Born and raised in The Bronx, Kaykay has learned about hip hop as a tool of resistance. With appreciation and gratitude extended to sensei iLLSpokinn and the Rebel Diaz Arts Collective (RDACBX), KayKay began learning how to DJ in 2014, and she hasn’t stopped since. In 2017 we could’ve spotted her holding down a set for Tef Poe, or maybe at the Rays of Hope walk in NYC alongside the likes of Nitty Scott MC. You may have seen her featured in Vibe Magazine’s story, “This Sh*t Is For Us: Black Diasporic Women Are Running New York City’s Underground Music Scene”. You've probably peeped her on the 1s and 2s at a house party or two, at the local market, a workshop, or a summit. KayKay is regularly showing up in space for movement and rhythm to simply be. Spinning smiles, joy, and laughter to a crowd full of people.
